May Songwriting Challenge- Day 27: Money to Blow

We were joking around about the island and buying a home the other day and I said “Oh if I had money to blow”…and my honey said “that’d be a fun song to write”…so I did it…in the last twenty minutes. I’ve just been watching the time tick away while still playing catch up, but I’m getting there!

V1:
I’d buy a plane ticket, no, a private jet
Be whisked up, up and away, with my favorite friends
Pick a spot on the globe, preferably
One with plenty of rum, and a beach
Oh the places we’d go
If I had money to blow

V2:
Take a big ole cabin, out in the woods
Yeah, the no neighbors for miles kind of neighborhood
Fill it with my favorite things in life
Whiskey bar, guitars, with a view to die
Yeah, I’d be so at home
If I had money to blow

CH:
Instead, I’ll spend this daily grind
Just 9 to 5 dreaming
‘Bout the life I would live
If I had the luxury
Of a lotto ticket, a booming business
A trust fund or a rich uncle
Yeah if I had money to blow

V3:
Once my folks were all set up
I’d do my best to spread the love
Buy a thousand acres, build a barn
Own a rescue farm
Horses, pigs, dogs and goats
If I had money to blow

CH:
Instead, I’ll spend this daily grind
Just 9 to 5 dreaming
‘Bout the life I would live
If I had the luxury
Of a lotto ticket, a booming business
A trust fund or a rich uncle
Yeah if I had money to blow

BR:
I’ll just fantasize, ‘til my account million-tuples
‘Bout what I’d do if I had money to blow

CH:
I’ll spend this daily grind
Just 9 to 5 dreaming
‘Bout the life I would live
If I had the luxury
Of a lotto ticket, a booming business
A trust fund or a rich uncle
Yeah if I had money to blow
