May Songwriting Challenge- Day 16: Full Throttle ... and my existential crisis
We are past the half way mark in this challenge. Yesterday I completed the “One Song, Three Ways” exercise…today I’m going to take on the one I’ve been DREADING since Aaron presented it to me. He told me…to write a song that doesn’t rhyme :-O
Okay, if you’ve been reading my blog at all, you know I am a serial rhymer. Hardcore. The first two attempts at this have resulted in existential crises. Brace yourselves y’all, this won’t be pretty.
Full Throttle

V1:
You can say I push the limits
That I like living on the edge
Keep my guardian angels too close
Love my whiskey neat
Women a little fast
Cars, soft top, and cherry red
CH:
Whoa, whoa, we’ve all got our own path
Yeah, yeah, yeah, taking mine full speed
No, no, no, I’m not slowing down
Yeah, yeah, full throttle, full throttle
V2:
It’s true that bones break
When mixed with sticks and stones
But the deepest wounds leave the coolest scars
I’ll wear them proud like tattoos
With my heart on my sleeve
No regrets, ‘til my sand runs out
CH:
Whoa, whoa, we’ve all got our own path
Yeah, yeah, yeah, taking mine full speed
No, no, no, I’m not slowing down
Yeah, yeah, full throttle, full throttle
BR:
When St. Peter calls my name
I’m sure we’ll share a laugh
And a good stiff drink
As he waves me on through
CH:
Whoa, whoa, we’ve all got our own path
Yeah, yeah, yeah, taking mine full speed
No, no, no, I’m not slowing down
Yeah, yeah, full throttle, full throttle
No, no, no, I’m not slowing down
Yeah, yeah, full throttle, full throttle
