I grew up in a little southern Indiana town, where I discovered my two passions; horses and music. I learned how to play guitar , began writing lyrics, and performed in show choir during my younger years, but ultimately chose to pursue and Equine Degree from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. While I was in college, I continued writing and decided to kick off this blog after participating in February Album Writing Month, which I decided to extend beyond the month of February, creating this blog. This was initially a challenge for me to write 100 songs in one year and turned into a journey years in the making.
Since beginning Just Keep Writing, I have made many connections in the music business. I took a chance and emailed a local independent country artist, named Layton James, asking if he'd be interested in working together. I officially got my first cut with a song we co-wrote called "Let The Storm Roll By" in 2012. When Layton met local artist Jake Dodds, he pitched a few of our songs and they became a part of Jake's set during the first few years of his career.
In 2015, after months of our friends asking why we weren't a thing yet, Layton and I finally gave in and admitted we had more than just songwriting chemistry.

Layton spent a little over a year working down in Florida and when we both decided that we didn't want to live in Florida, he asked where I wanted to move and mentioned Nashville. Everything fell into place a few weeks later and we became Nashvillians in 2017...then in 2019 we got married! I MARRIED BY BEST FRIEND Y'ALL!
We are still living the dream, spending our days working as local professionals and our evenings writing, playing and spoiling the dogs as much as possible.
Layton is working on putting another album together so the writing bug has hit both of us! We can't wait to share everything with y'all!
