The Blog is Back!!
You read right! The Just Keep Writing frenzy has returned. Well, it's not much of a frenzy, but it has officially returned. I know I really let this blog (and myself) down over the past few years about I am ready to hit the ground running.
I wrote this song a little over a year ago when the "life's about bonfire's, tailgates, and country girls" wave seemed to really hit. I decided to jump on the bandwagon with this little tune. I hung onto it for a while while various people listened to it to see if it got any bites. It even got me on NSAI's "ones to watch" list. The reason that I love this one so much (other than the fact that it's dirty) is because it's one of the few fun songs I've written. Usually I write either super angry or super depressing songs, so this was a breath of fresh air. Hopefully I can write a couple more like this!

I like to do
it in the dirt on a Friday night
At the end
of a gravel road
So won’t you
pick me up and drive me down
Through a
honeysuckle grove
With a
cooler of miller light, tucked in the bed
If you’re
lookin’ for a piece of heaven, it’s ‘bout as close as you can get
It’s half a
dozen pickup trucks parked ‘round a ten foot flame
And twice as
many country girls barefoot in the clay
Don’t be
surprised if things get a little wild
‘Cause
‘round here when we party, we do it southern style
keep a
fishin’ pole and tackle box
Behind the
seat
In case we
decide to take it
Down to the
creek
If you’re
really lucky and the fish refuse to bite
Us girls
will hit the water, it’s just a matter of time
It’s half a
dozen pickup trucks parked ‘round a ten foot flame
And twice as
many country girls barefoot in the clay
Don’t be
surprised if things get a little wild
‘Cause
‘round here when we party, we do it southern style
We do it in
the backwoods, do it on the farm
Do it clear
up ‘til the crack of dawn
It’s not
just a rowdy night, it’s a way of life
It’s half a
dozen pickup trucks parked ‘round a ten foot flame
And twice as
many country girls barefoot in the clay
Don’t be
surprised if things get a little wild
‘Cause
‘round here when we party
It’s half a

And twice as
