Hello! This will be song post #41. After open mic night, I was inspired to finish this one up. I started it a few months ago when I was thinking about dumping the guy I was with. I have music for this, so once I get the house to myself for a night, I'll try to get a GV recorded. Turn Around © 2011 Chelsey Sears  Midnight storm is rolling through The wind begins to howl Rain and thunder carry on But they can't seem to drown The thoughts that are racing through My restless mind As I stare at my phone and wonder If it's worth the fight 'Cause the road is getting rough And we don't know where it leads But I've got this crazy feeling it's gonna Dead end in the weeds And we'll be left with nowhere to go but down. Well folks, I think I'm hooked. I attended my first open mic night last night and had a blast. I have to admit, I was super nervous...so nervous that I texted all my musician friends asking for advice. They all pretty much gave the the same advice...to go out and rock it. When they finally called me up onto the stage I grabbed my guitar, plopped down on that stool and just gave it a go. Amazingly, all my nerves melted away and I enjoyed every minute of it. Now I'm putting my pencil to the paper to write some new songs for next month.

Oh boy, I better pick it up a bit! :) One Night in Amarillo © 2011 Chelsey Sears One night in Amarillo In a little motel bar She ordered up another To close out happy hour One night in Amarillo She left her past in the rearview And tried to drown the memories Good and bad, in a bottle of 80 proof One night in Amarillo He stopped in for a beer After a business trip He made sale of the year One night in Amarillo He took that ring off his hand Knowing damn well that He'd never see her again When the morning sun rises He'll greet it alone 'Cause she is already Fifty miles down the road He'll gather up his things Head back home And they'll move on But they'll never let go Of one night in Amarillo The talk wasn't so small And they bot...
