I could get used to this...

Well, I have officially taken another step towards becoming a songwriter! Last evening I met with a local singer/songwriter for a writing session. I know at this moment any professional who is reading this will be rolling their eyes at me, but it was kind of a big deal. He had posted an ad on craiglist looking to put a band together. I emailed him saying that I was not a musician, but that I had some songs that might suit him well. To my surprise, he responded! What was even more surprising was that he was completely legit! I spent a few hours with him working out the kinks on a lyric while he put it to music. After a while, when the creative juices stopped flowing...around midnight...we both grabbed our guitars and played some of our other songs. Well...he played. I fumbled around with my little five chord arrangements. I'm not sure how well it went from his point of view but let's just say that I'm still on a bit of a music high. So I'm taking a break from my new writes to finish the two he likes. I'm not sure if he will put either of them on his next album...but if he does....y'all will need to go out and buy it! I'm off to write! Later!
