Hideaway
Sorry for my absence folks! It has been a crazy week. As I'm coming to the end of my college career I am feeling more and more burnt out, which has left me a bit depressed. I guess that's what 18 years of being in school does to you sometimes. But one thing I look forward to is having a bit more freedom in my schedule for my horses, and for my music. A forty hour work-week will be nothing compared to 22 credit hour semesters, being on two athletic teams, and working two nights per week. I'm hoping to take some guitar lessons in order to further my songwriting.
So, today I am just going to sit down at my laptop and write something. I have no idea where this is going to go, I just know that I need to make myself do this. It's time. This is going to be a male lyric, along the lines of Jason Aldean.

I can hear the thunder comin'
It's pickin' up speed
And the sweet smell of summer rain
Is floatin' in the breeze
It's gonna be upon us
Any minute now
And Honey I can't wait for
The power to go out
'Cause I've got a dozen candles waiting
And a bottle of red wine
We can lay down some blankets
Camp in the living room all night
This guitar is tuned and ready
To play your favorite songs
In our hideaway until
The storm moves on
The flash of the lightening
Is starting to break through
That crack in the curtains
Of the window across the room
Sure the wind is howling
Like a runaway train
If you stay right here with me
I'll keep you safe

When the skies start to darken
As we journey through life
Just follow me girl
Come inside
'Cause I've got a dozen candles waiting
And a bottle of red wine
We can lay down some blankets
Camp in the living room all night
This guitar is tuned and ready
To play your favorite songs
In our hideaway until
The storm moves on
